“The world is like a magical carousel of images, light, and color. Watercolors have the wonderful possibilities of overlapping and overpainting transparency, as well as the ability to be dark, rich, and more opaque color. Personal fascination with the sheer beauty of form, color, texture, and design motivates me to paint sometimes in a more traditional way – other times more inventive and obviously searching. As a painter, I hope to be always more inventive, original, and skillful
representing my vision and love for the
world in which we live.” Rae

		<description>&#60;img src="http://payload26.cargocollective.com/1/0/29847/2830289/bill and connie photo.jpg" border="0" width="554" height="367" width_o="554" height_o="367" src_o="http://payload26.cargocollective.com/1/0/29847/2830289/bill and connie photo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Bill and Connie have owned and managed the Bill Walton Art Gallery located at 135 1/2 E. North Main, El Dorado, KS for the past 16 years. Bill's western and sport art are on display in the main gallery; his art studio and Connie's framing is located in the rear area.

Bill's recognition as a sport and western artist began in 1971, when the Waltons lived near Enid, OK. He depicts western scenes, using varioius mediums, that tell a story, whether it is dramaticor comedic or an illustration of the simple tasks typical of daily life in yhe West. His ability to capture the true emotions of a horse is due to his father's occupation of training horses to work and his own experiences in raising and training horses to ride.

Bill's passion for sports, particularly baseball, is evident in his sport art. He prefers to paint or draw the golden era of baseball, using oil or brilliant pastel colors to create portraits and action scenes of athletes.

The sport genre has taken him from coast to coast with commissioned work from throughout the United States and Canada. He has done commissioned sport art for the Oklahoma Sports Museum in Guthrie, Oklahoma, the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame in Wichita and the El Dorado Baseball Museum. In 1997 and 1998 his sport art was accepted for the Baseball Art Show held in Gallery 3 in Cooperstown, New York during the induction week.

Connie learned the trade of framing art to offset the cost of framing Bill's artwork. THis evolved into a small framing business. She has expanded her skills to include the art of shadow box design, which is one of the highest art forms in the framing craft. A shadow box is most often a collection of objects combined to tell a story about a person, place or event. She enjoys the challenge of assembling unique items as a framed piece of art.

James Butler is a Kansas native born at Ft. Scott in 1947. After moving to Wichita, KS, he attended Campus High School and Wichita University. As a young artist, he was mentored by Dee Connett and has been influenced by her throughout his career.

After attending Wichita University, James lived abroad for many years and worked for the United States Dept. of State as a Foreign Service Officer. In 1998, he retired to Australia and has been working full time as an artist. In 2000, he returned to Wichita and now owns James Butler Studios which is situated along the Little Arkansas River, north of the city.

To me, nature presents in terms of light and color. It is not my intention to depict dramatic, emotional and social issues with my art but rather to evoke a constant delight from the viewer.

Capturing the ever shifting light and color inherent in nature and putting it into evanescent, ethereal images is my ambition. The forms of nature - water, trees, grass, clouds and human figures - are constantly in flux. I paint what I see - that is, I capture the moment in light and color. I do it because I am delighted by it.

Jan Butler was born in Geneva, Nebraska and movedc to Wichita, KS, in 1981. Classes in decorative painting stimulted her keen interest in art. In 1998, she enrolled in fine art classes at Wichita State University and graduated in 2004 wit a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio arts with a minor in art history.

A dominant theme in her work, Portals and Passageways, represents an ongoing series of paintings about transition in life with the door as a metaphor for safety. The artist also produces high-energy water colors and subdued still life paintings. Jan had the privilege of working with a team of artists during the historic renovation of St. Anthony's church in Wichita doing stenciling, gilding and painting faux marble. Jan teaches watercolor painting classes and creates handmade boxes and other paper items. She is represented by the Vintera Gallery in Wichita.

Wyatt is interested in both the spiritual and compositional aspects of his subjects. 2009 Art Show at the Dog Show—award winner.

	Peggy began her jewelry education in 1993 with a Pearl and Bead Stringing Learn at Home Class from the Gemological Institute of America, aka G.I.A. Peggy had so much fun with the bead stringing class she decided to pursue a Graduate Gemology degree, aka G.G. degree. After many years of night and weekend studying, Peggy completed her Graduate Gemology degree April 30, 1999.

	Both Gene and Peggy are life long rock hounds. As retirement approached, Peggy encouraged Gene to take several jewelry repair classes as well as joining her in a Diamond Grading class. These classes led Gene to learning about cutting, polishing and setting the various “rocks” they had collected over the years into designer jewelry they sell through their part time jewelry business they operate from their home. Since their retirement, the Maggard’s have developed a part-time jewelry business doing seasonal shows throughout Kansas. This business also includes jewelry repair, lapidary cutting and polishing of cabochons and custom design jewelry.

		<description>Theresa Arnold has been creating gemstone jewelry for nearly a decade. Genuine gemstones are a passion for Theresa, as they provide the inspiration for each jewelry design. Theresa and husband, James, recently celebrated their 20-year anniversary. They and their two sons have been residents of Butler County for 14 years, and live in rural Potwin.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/29847/2243774/luminous.jpg" border="0" width="426" height="629" width_o="426" height_o="629" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/29847/2243774/luminous_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
Luminous

The natural Golden Sheen Obsidian displays a “velvety” effect best appreciated in person. The natural Labradorite gemstones are in the same color range; many give a “flash” of color. Both gemstones are highly luminous. The design also uses sterling silver and Swarovski crystal to create subtle contrast. Pewter finishing hardware.

Necklace: $109   Length: 18”

Swarovski &#38; Sterling Earrings:  $15

Carnelian Teardrops
Pretty teardrop shapes create a frilly effect and are interspersed with more Carnelian, sterling silver beads, and Swarovski crystal.

Both the necklace and bracelet have a pewter clasp which mimics the teardrop shape of the gemstones.

Carnelian gemstones are normally dyed and heated to enhance the color (as these stones are).

Necklace: $69   Length: 18.5”

Bracelet:  $35  Length: 7.5”

Special touches add to the beauty of this necklace…small gemstones and sterling silver beads within the centerpiece create an unusual effect, and a sterling/bead accent gives weight to the extender chain. Golden Sheen Obsidian Flowing Bracelet

Son, Joseph, designed this bracelet when he was 12 years old. There are two strands forming the piece; appearing seperately in a flowing movement, and meeting through the larger stones. Alfreda has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She took art classes at Butler Community College and Wichita State University plus numerous art workshops.

She feels very lucky to have been able to live in several countries and to do art in all of them. She lived on a 41' boat for three year (A big learning curve for a Kansas farm girl). Then 11 years in a motor home while traveling in every territory and province in Canada, every state in Mexico and every state in the US. Her travels provided her with many wonderful subjects to paint. She has pictures on walls in Canada, The Bahamas, Mexico plus many states in the US.

She was a member of the EI Dorado Art Association and the Ajijic Art Society in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico. She wants to give a special "thank you" to her daughter, Anna Seeber Shaw, for helping her in many ways in her quest to become a better artist.
